Brittny – Manager/Pet Care Specialist

2-brittny

My name is Brittny and I spent most of my childhood growing up in the Malibu canyons. My true love for animals developed when I was just about the age of six and I discovered a feral cat and her litter of kittens right in my own backyard! My Grandma and I raised them, until we eventually found each one a forever home. At the age of twelve I moved to the South Bay, in the city of El Segundo. While growing up with cats, I never had the joy of having a dog…until a beautiful puppy named Charlie unexpectedly came into my life about five years ago. I was also able to find homes for her three siblings as well. That was the moment when I realized that I needed to pursue my passion for helping and caring for animals. During this new discovery, I changed my major and graduated with a BA in Communication Studies at California State University, Northridge. While working towards this degree, I was able to research and voice my opinions on issues surrounding our furry companions and show what beautiful creatures they really are. I am so fortunate to be apart of the Auntie Em’s team, and I am looking forward to sharing my love and dedication with each and every one of your fur-kids!

I was born and raised in Torrance. We have always had animals in my home. As a teenager, I began bringing home   lost and stray dogs that I found. It was a great feeling to see them reunited with their owners! I knew I loved Animals from a young age.  Since high school, I have fostered dogs and cats of all ages. I find myself volunteering for rescues on a regular basis. I guess you can say it is my passion. I have two rescued dogs, Jax & Frankie and two cats, Sam & Mickey all of who I rescued myself. I have been with Auntie Em’s for about 4 years now, and I absolutely love it! I’m loving working for for Auntie Em. She is so caring and dedicated. Definitely an inspiration for me. It’s so nice to help people who really care for their pets as much as I do. Giving these animals the love and attention they need will keep them healthy and happy.

My name is Eva and I grew up in Redondo Beach. I began pet sitting 12 years ago helping my friend launch her pet sitting business in the South Bay. I love animals, so a pet sitting and dog walking career is Heaven for me. I have been a member of Auntie Em’s for the past 3 years and I am so incredibly proud what this company stands for. I currently reside in North Torrance with my 2 roommates, my adorable Malti-Chi named Banshee, a Labrador named Diamond and a Labrador-Pincher-Great Dane mix,  Stella. We care and love them all and it shows through their happy tails and smiling faces. I love what I do, it’s the best job in the world!

Lucas – Pet Care Specialist

I’m Lucas (aka Subro)! I grew up in the south of Brazil with my mom, our 15 dogs, two iguanas and a lot of hamsters! I was always surrounded by animals since I can remember and as I grew up I started to study animal behavior and became a dog trainer. I’ve been working training dogs and cats for 5 years and volunteered at some non profit organizations, helping animals to improve their adoptability and aided in rescuing them from the streets. I have two amazing rescued dogs and I couldn’t be more proud of them. Taking care of animals is my favorite thing in the world. My mission is to spread the word of ethical and positive ways to take care of animals and to make them feel truly happy. I’m really glad to work for Auntie Em, a person who shares the same motivation.”Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much”.

Kirstin – Pet Care Specialist

KirstinHello! My name is Kirstin and I have lived in the South Bay for the last twenty years. Ever since I was a child I have had a deep passion for animals. I grew up with three big German Shepherds and a Golden Retriever and it was in those years that I realized I wanted to care and own dogs for the rest of my life. A house is not a home without a furry friend! Currently, I have a Husky named Misha who has been my best friend and whole life for the last three years. A perfect day off for me is to go on a nice long hike or go to the dog beach with my dog and really exert both of our energies. For the last few years various friends and family member have gone to me when they were in need of a pet sitter. Not only did they know their pet was in good hands but also knew that it wasn’t a chore for me to do so. I have cared for hamsters, dogs, cats, birds, and bunnies. I absolutely love all animals and would have so much fun caring for your furry friends as well!

Sonya – Pet Care Specialist

SonyaHello, my name is Sonya. I grew up in Northern Kentucky in a family whose business and first love is horses. Along with horses, dogs and cats were always a regular part of our family. Since moving to Torrance in 2016 with my husband’s job, I was fortunate enough to have loads of fun as a trail guide for horseback riding in Palos Verdes, until they closed their doors in late 2017. Though most of my animal work history has revolved around horses, I’m super excited to now have an opportunity to care for a wider variety of smaller furry/feathery/fuzzy friends. Can’t wait to meet them!!

Kyle – Pet Care Specialist

kyleHello, my name is Kyle, and I would like to tell you a little bit about my passion for animal care. Growing up on my family’s farm in Southeast Kansas, my three sisters and I took care of our family’s cows, horses, chickens, dogs, cats, pigs and goats. It was our responsibility to feed and water, as well as clean out the stables, and in the case of the dogs and cats, train, bathe, and housebreak. I’ve worked with house cats, feral cats, rescued/abandoned dogs of all ages and sizes, but commonplace dog breeds were labs or lab mixes, Australian shepherds, heelers (red/blue), border collies, and shepherd mixes. In addition to the family farm, I also spent my summer vacations on my grandparent’s ranch, which included all of the animals listed above, just on a much larger scale! During my spring breaks in high school, I also helped my neighbor take care of animals you could consider to be a bit more exotic. He owned and bred large felines (lions, tigers, leopards, lynx, etc), as well as emu, mastiffs, chihuahuas, low rider cats, and several different types of water fowl. So big or small, exotic or family pet, I’ve grown up with animal care being a large part of my daily life and routine. Sadly, my current residence does not allow animals, so I don’t have a furry friend of my own. Auntie Em’s provides me with the opportunity to fill that void I’ve had since moving to Los Angeles, and I look forward to spending quality time with your furry friend!

Jacqueline – Pet Care Specialist

JacquelineHi, my name is Jacqueline and I would like to tell you a bit about myself. I was born and raised in Redondo Beach, California. I can not tell you when my passion for animals started, as it has been present throughout my entire life. As long as I can remember, I have been finding strays and bringing them home, to then either keep them or to find them a forever home. As an adult, I have been working with horses on a professional level and always caring for the barn dogs and cats and whatever other animals needed exercise and TLC. For me, animals are not pets, they are part of your family and without them something is missing!!! I lived in Europe for many years and the mentality there, is that your pet goes everywhere with you, anywhere is pet friendly; restaurants, banks, hotels, and even cafes. I wish it could be like that here. I have a fantastic Lab, Maxi (Funny Face), whom I rescued when he was 8 months old from a family that did not want him and since then he has been apart of my family and has been all over the world with me. When they say that a mans best friend is a dog, Maxi is a perfect example of that. As well as Maxi, I also have a horse, Cheyenne who is turning 25 in May and I got her when she was 6 months old. We have been together her entire life and when I moved back to the South Bay I brought her with me from Europe. Like I said before, animals are your family and they always need to be with their people!!! I would love to help you and care for your four legged friends. I have years of experience with all different types, sizes, shapes, and weights! I would feel privileged to help you, because I truly understand the meaning of love between you and your furry, adorable four legged friends!

 Courtney – Pet Care Specialist

CourtneyMy name is Courtney. I was born and raised in South Orange County. I have been an animal lover all my life. The more pets I get to take care of and love on the better. I have 3 dogs myself ; Bear(Shepherd mix), Naomi(Shepherd mix), and Cooper(Brussels Griffon mix). My dogs are not only pets but also family members. The perfect day for me starts and ends with animals. My goal is to give each and every animal the best day they could imagine it to be filled with lots of love and attention. I treat every pet as though they were my own.

 Lorin – Pet Care Specialist

LorinMy name is Lorin, and I am an animal lover. I feel that I have found my true passion, and have the best job in the world in caring for pets! I was born in Virginia, and moved to Orange County when I was six. I have been surrounded by animals all of my life. We had two German Shepherds when I was a baby, and my mom and dad, both professional horse riders/jumpers had me on a horse as soon as I could walk. I have had a cat since I was six years old. I recently lost my 19 year old fur baby Domino, but am happy to care for your pets in his place. A friend recently said to me, “We love our animals, but they love us so much more. “ I will make sure that each and every animal I care for knows how loved and appreciated they are! I have been pet sitting/dog walking for over 10 years. I am excited to join Emery’s team, and care for your pets, day in and out. In addition, I am a Air Force veteran and a Yoga Teacher. I guess you could say my passion is caring for pets and humans alike. I look forward to meeting you and your fur baby!!

 Jackie – Pet Care Specialist

jackieMy name is Jackie and I’m delighted to be joining the Auntie Em’s team! I grew up in Guatemala surrounded by lots of homeless pets that I would feed and take care of if they were injured. I volunteered for a couple of rescues growing up and tried my best to find every single animal I could a loving home. My grandparents owned a farm in rural Guatemala so feeding chickens, rabbits and goose and milking cows was my weekend scenario. I grew up wanting to be a vet because that was the only career related to animals that I could think of but boy was I wrong! Coming back to the states allowed me to discover a world of job opportunities in the pet industry. I worked in pet retail stores for a couple of years and learned about nutrition, proper leashes and puppy training! While working these jobs I would sit neighbors pets on the weekend which leads me to where I am today. I enjoy the one on one interaction I get with the pets I’ve been privileged enough to take care of and I enjoy giving every single one of them my undivided attention. I want the time your pet spend with me to be a positive and secure experience while of course getting all the licks, wags and cuddles I can get. I cannot wait to be your fur kids best friend!
